KHA Quality Webinar: The New CMS TEAM Model: Improving Quality of Care for Specific Surgical Procedures

On Thursday, February 6, 2025, at 11 am EST, KHA’s Quality Process Improvement Specialist, Billie Delauder delivered a high overview of the new Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) initiative, the Transforming Episode Accountability Model (TEAM).  TEAM aims to improve care for Medicare beneficiaries by holding hospitals accountable for the cost and quality of care during specific surgical episodes.  Overall, TEAM is designed to encourage hospitals to provide high-quality, cost-effective care by aligning financial incentives with patient outcomes. Starting January 1, 2026, this mandatory model will be implemented in 17 selected hospitals in the Commonwealth.
