Sepsis Consortium Webinar: Families Fighting Flu
Thanks to all who joined us for our February Sepsis Consortium webinar on Thursday, February 27. Our first guest speaker was Dr. Jeb Teichman from Families Fighting Flu. Dr. Teichman shared the touching, personal story of his son’s death from flu and sepsis. He shared information about the organization and his belief that his son would be alive today if he had received the flu vaccine. He joins us in advocating for improved sepsis screening and recognition in the pre-hospital areas that our patients are seen and treated in. Our second speaker, Laura White, the Performance Improvement Engineer from Med Center Health shared the work they have done with area EMS providers in developing and using sepsis protocols and improved documentation to increase their bundle compliance rates.
