KHA Quality Award

Honoring Leadership and Innovation in Patient Care Quality, Safety, and Commitment

The Kentucky Hospital Association Quality Award is presented to honor hospital leadership and innovation in quality, safety, and commitment to patient care. The goals of this award are to:

  • Raise awareness of the need for an organization-wide commitment to highly reliable, patient-centered care
  • Reward successful efforts to develop and promote improvements in quality of care
  • Inspire organizations to systematically integrate and align their quality improvement efforts throughout the organization
  • Communicate successful programs and strategies to the hospital field

The submission form for 2025 nominations has been closed.

Eligibility

All acute hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, post-acute hospitals, and hospital systems in Kentucky who are members of KHA are eligible to apply for the award. There are eight award categories:

  • Critical Access Hospital (<25 Beds)
  • Acute Care Hospitals With 100 or Fewer Beds
  • Acute Care Hospitals Between 101-250 Beds
  • Acute Care Hospitals With Greater than 250 Beds
  • Freestanding Psychiatric Hospitals
  • Freestanding Rehab Hospitals
  • Long-Term Acute Care Hospitals
  • Hospital systems

All applications, once submitted, are deemed the property of the Kentucky Hospital Association. The content in each application may be used in KHA’s efforts to promote quality improvement in the hospital field and to provide best practices and examples of different approaches to achieving quality goals. Descriptions of winning programs may be published or otherwise shared by the Kentucky Hospital Association in an aim to increase awareness of the need for an organization-wide commitment to quality improvement and patient safety. Program contacts may also be asked to provide additional information.
